About Us

Astarte Industries is at the forefront of tactical shooter game development, and we are on the lookout for an Animator to join our passionate team. Our current project, Bellum, is a First-Person Military Tactical Shooter set in the near future, designed to push the boundaries of realism and immersive gameplay.

Role Overview

As an Animator at Astarte Industries, you will be responsible for rigging, skinning, and animating characters and assets, contributing to the development of sophisticated character animations and locomotion systems in Bellum. You will work closely with programmers and designers to develop functional and realistic in-game animations that elevate the immersion and realism of our tactical combat experience. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with Unreal Engine 5 and create both first-person and third-person animations that define the look and feel of the game.

Key Responsibilities

Animation Development:
  • • Rig, skin, and animate characters, animals, and objects to create high-quality animations.
  • • Collaborate closely with programmers, designers, and other team members to integrate and maintain animation systems within Unreal Engine 5; including locomotion setups, and True First Person camera setups.
  • • Implement and maintain animation blueprints and blend trees, ensuring they perform well in multiplayer scenarios with many characters.
Collaboration & Integration:
  • • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animations, ensuring smooth character movement.
  • • Stay updated with the latest animation techniques and technologies and suggest improvements where possible.
Optimization & Scalability:
  • • Focus on creating scalable and clear animation solutions that perform well across various gameplay scenarios.
  • • Optimize animations for high performance in multiplayer environments, considering network efficiency and synchronization.

Requirements

Experience:
  • • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • • At least one shipped title, demonstrating expertise in character animation and locomotion design.
  • • Experience working with animation systems in Unreal Engine or similar development toolsets.
Technical Skills:
  • • Knowledge of rigging and skinning characters, animals, and objects.
  • • Familiarity with developing multiplayer games.
  • • Basic knowledge of modeling/creating 3D assets.
Soft Skills:
  • • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions to animation challenges.
  • • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • • Passion for online gaming and military first-person shooters.
