About Us

Astarte Industries is at the forefront of tactical shooter game development, and we are on the lookout for Environment Artist to join our passionate team. Our current project, Bellum, is a First-Person Military Tactical Shooter set in the near future, designed to push the boundaries of realism and immersive gameplay.

Role Overview

As an Environment Artist at Astarte Industries, you will be responsible for helping to produce high-quality environments that align with the artistic vision of Bellum. Working closely with senior artists and other departments, you will play a key role in building both architectural and organic environments, ensuring they meet the aesthetic and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Environment Creation:
  • • Assist in producing detailed and visually appealing environments that support the game’s artistic vision.
  • • Collaborate with senior artists to maintain consistency in the artistic style of the game.
  • • Optimize assets to maintain game performance while ensuring high visual quality.
  • • Work with the technical team to integrate environments and assets into the Unreal Engine.
  • • Address and resolve any artistic issues that arise during production.
Collaboration:
  • • Work closely with the Creative Director, and other team members to ensure the environment art aligns with the game’s overall visual direction.
  • • Participate in team discussions and provide input to improve the quality and efficiency of the art production process.
  • • Continuously seek to improve your skills and stay updated with the latest tools and techniques in environment art.

Requirements

Experience:
  • • 2-4 years of experience as an Environment Artist in game development.
  • • Experience in creating environments for at least one shipped title.
  • • Strong understanding of environment design principles, including architecture and prop integration.
Technical Skills:
  • • Proficient in Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer/Painter, etc.
  • • Experience with lighting techniques, normal map creation, and shader application.
  • • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
  • • Familiarity with the art production pipeline, including modeling, texturing, and optimization processes.
Soft Skills:
  • • Strong artistic abilities with a solid understanding of composition and art styles.
  • • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, effectively communicating with artists, designers, and engineers.
  • • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced development environment.
Preferred (but not required):
  • • Willingness to relocate to Scottsdale, AZ, relocation support will be provided.
