Bellum Beta Build #752
Bellum Beta Build #752 is now live on main branch.

Bellum Beta Build #752
Everything since Build 746.
Changes
Gunplay & Damage
- Getting shot now punches your aim again. A hit kicks your aim toward the wound, this was previously bugged due to a code migration.
- Mortar shells start their fragments 38 cm off the ground and PG-7 rockets 25 cm, so the fragments actually fly slightly further.
- Each shell’s fragment pattern is now turned at random, so no spot near an impact is permanently safe or always hit in the same place.
- Hand grenade fuses vary per throw (about 4.2-5.8 s). Before, every throw had the same fuse.
- Concussion no longer carries into your next life.
- RPG rounds weathervane: under thrust they turn into a crosswind, then drift back downwind after burnout. A PG-7VM in a 3 m/s crosswind lands 1.8 m upwind at 200 m.
- AK-74M with the 1P87: sight eye distance aligned, and the AK-74M has its own animation layer.
Mortars
- 2B25 and Type 63 leveling: turning the tube (A/D) on uneven ground throws its level off. Q/E now levels the tube, and the sight picture rolls with the cant against fixed crosswires.
- Turning is back to 3°/s and starts slow for the first quarter second, for fine adjustment.
- Horizon Sticks: mortar assistants carry 10 aiming sticks in slot 4. Plant them as aiming references; teammates pick them back up with F. They don’t stop bullets or movement.
- Loading your own round closes the scope and blocks ADS until it is in. After the assistant loads, their next round draws properly.
- The scope’s compass and bearing readout is removed. The elevation readout and range card stay.
- Smoother M224 reload.
Squads & Servers
- Servers dynamically scale now to assist seeding. HQ, recon and squads 13 and 14 open once the server reaches 36 players, and close again if it stays below 30 for 5 minutes. Squads 11 and 12 are always open, and mortars still unlock at 30 on your team.
- New server option: a dynamic AO for seeding, 500 m across with team bases about 300 m out, US vs RU Attrition.
- Russian recon roles carry the new RUPMC Tactical backpacks, and the boonies are reshaped to sit closer to the head.
B-TAK & Watch
- New Call app: dial your own placed charges from your (555) contacts. The call rings for 3-5 s, then detonates.
- New Notes app: private Match Notes (cleared on map change) and Account Notes (kept between sessions), 4,000 characters each.
- New Manual app: the Field Manual on your phone, with Ctrl+F search across the whole manual. GO TO (Ctrl+F) now opens only on the Map app.
- Platoon tasks: picking a squad is optional (no squad means team-wide), and right-click Retask assigns or reassigns. Task plates show the squad only.
- The watch shows every placed marker and ring. ORP, patrol base and cache markers and rings are back.
- The squad leader triangle on the deployment map and watch shows the rifleman icon instead of a “1”.
- The after action map no longer draws your own amber movement trail.
Graphics & Performance
- Medium: reflections are screen-space only, so off-screen objects and rough surfaces stop reflecting. Low: fog, smoke and glass lighting now use Medium’s settings. Low and Medium shadows skip tessellation detail.
- Fixed the dithered shadow flicker on swaying foliage with DLSS at Low and Medium.
- Removed an always-on rendering pass for your first-person view (about 0.4 ms GPU at Medium).
- Tsavo: grass and bush streaming costs about 0.25 ms less per frame. A redundant, expensive sun disc is removed.
- Bullet impacts show out to 500 m on Low (was 200 m) and 600 m on Medium (was 350 m). Rocket and mortar effects show out to 1 km (was 500 m).
Maps
- Kambori: many misplaced props fixed, landscape rebuilt.
- Boulder cluster cull distances fixed on Kambori and Highlands.
Fixes
- Fixed a crash when changing graphics settings after a map change, if you had used the drone feed or the spectator camera.
- RPG-7 rounds show correctly in the launcher through reloads, firing and re-equipping, in first and third person.
- AK-74M with the 1P87 no longer loses its recoil after a reload or equipment swap.
- M240 belt linking can no longer push the gun past 200 rounds.
- Enemies you scope in on switch to full animation detail straight away instead of sometimes staying on distant-detail animation.
- The DP27 and M240 have their own animation detail distances back.
- Interactions work again inside some Highlands restrooms and two Kambori interiors.
- The mortar gunner’s camera no longer drags the whole body during animations.
- The drone feed frees its memory when closed.
